學習盲點：花太多時間背文法，閱讀量太少或熟悉句型太少
英文寫作這件事是許多台灣學生的弱點，是因為花太多時間背文法，閱讀量太少的關係。台灣教育方法有很大的問題，讓很多台灣的孩子不論多認真卻總是學不好英文。
學英文就像小朋友學說話，初步學習靠的是仿效 (學大人說話)， 最後才會慢慢創造出屬於自己的句子。台灣的教育太重視文法和考試，讓語文成為硬梆梆的背科。當然學語文一定不能免的基本功：一定要下苦功。但用對方法就可以事半功倍。英文好的話也就能將更多時間分給其他科目了！
透過閱讀小說或一般外語書籍或文章，學習外國人的寫作邏輯
選擇自己有興趣的題材，建議選擇比自己的程度稍微高一點點難度的教材
不要一次挑難度太高的挑戰，慢慢累積成就感和自信心，一步一步慢慢往上走才能走的順。如喜歡旅遊的人可以挑選travel articles，平日喜歡兩性文章的人可以搜尋 love relationship 的英文文章, 關心時事(topical issue)的人可以選擇CNN, BBC, Times 等等，當中格外推薦Ted Talk，因為這個頻道讓你學習英語的同時也讓你的視野與世界接軌。當然多看HBO等電影頻道或是美劇英劇（British drama series）或旅遊頻道（travel channel）都很有幫助，建議從自己喜歡的節目和文章題材開始著手，先累積興趣和成就感。
邊寫邊記是關鍵：不斷更新舊筆記
基本功是單字和常用句型，建議手抄，邊寫邊記是關鍵。不斷更新舊筆記是我自己記單字和片語的方式。記單字和片語就跟九九乘法一樣，每個人記憶力不同，但多看幾次多寫幾次，基本上重複背過七次的單字片語，應該可以讓你記住一輩子。至於單字到底要不要分類？如果能提升自己樂趣的筆記就是好筆記。至於文法雖然也需要花時間（但不要花太多時間琢磨）。
看多了語感自然會越來越好！如果你要參加大學考試（那就勉強自己一下吧，人生都有一些需要忍耐的階段）就像幼時孩童時期面對拔牙齒那樣，既然逃不掉肯定只能勇敢積極面對了！
語言學習關鍵: 看完一本書的你，是否有勤作筆記？我們都不該高估自己的記憶力。

這本書在國外算是有知名度的一本書，單字量相對少，屬於觀念宣導心靈雞湯系列的書籍。
Goodreads網站專門分享書籍小說和電影的箴言。小編司馬儀覺得既然花錢買了一本書也花時間看完一本書，不能空手而回，一定要留下痕跡或收穫！
以這本書佳句摘要為例：

通常閱讀段落的時候, 建議一頁畫線最好不要有超過五條底線。那麼，如果一整面都是新的片語呢?那你就把文章看熟，片語看熟，熟到最後只剩下五個很難記熟的再畫線就好了。那麼你的腦袋中就會覺得: 我只剩下五個不太熟，學習的心理負擔也會小很多。
2“The more connections you and your lover make, not just between your bodies, but between your minds, your hearts, and your souls, the more you will strengthen the fabric of your relationship, and the more real moments you will experience together.”
以藍色字體這一句為例，句子當中沒有任何艱難的單字，透過簡單的動詞和單字一樣可以寫出漂亮的句子，初學者建議可以把許多這一類寫作可能會用到的句子手抄下來或背下來，加強自己語言的美感！

想不想用英文寫出母親節父親節的卡片給爸媽呢？市面上學校的教科出很少清楚示範［感謝信］的筆法，其實，幾乎每一本英文書的作者都會在章節開始前的自序致上對各方的感謝。
