Friends send flowers to their friends for congratulations. There is a flora exposition held in Taiwan this year, 2018 Taichung World Flora Exposition. ABOUT TAICHUNG
Taichung, located in Central Taiwan, is 3 times the size of Singapore and 2 times the size of Hong Kong. The weather in Taichung is pleasant in all seasons which makes it one of the cities people like to travel to. The traffic infrastructure in Japanese era made Taichung a major town of politics, economic, traffic and culture in Central Taiwan. ABOUT FLORA EXPOSITION
People nowadays are busy working, which not only exhausts them, but also blinds their minds. At the same time, “happiness” is like the silence of blooming. We miss its beautiful blooming period accidentally due to our busy life. We may have richer lives, but our minds and souls are being emptied. For a long time, people have tended to emphasize economic effects and have overlooked the environmental damage we have caused. On one hand, we have damaged the environment to pursue development. On the other hand, we felt helpless and anxious about it. Therefore, with the holding of 2018 Taichung World Flora Exposition, Taichung government invites citizens to reflect on the intimate relationship between humanity and Mother Nature and listen carefully to the messages conveyed by Mother Nature.

▸【Green】Green․ Production․ Sharing

The main exhibition venue of “Waipu Expo Site” upholds the core value of sharing with nature, representing the past, present, and future imagination of Taiwan, a country founded on agriculture. To demonstrate the green technology of production and the features of the homeland of flowers and fruits, it especially utilizes smart agriculture to correspond with the objective of Taichung World Flora Exposition in developing quality agriculture. It focuses on safe food, organic, toxic-free and traceability so that not only people can eat them at ease, but also fulfill our responsibility in protecting the environment, creating zero-pollution, and convey the living images of slow food and downshifting. After the Flora Exposition ends, the place will be transformed into an international agriculture creative park.
▸【Nature】Nature . Ecosystem . Coexistence
“Houli Horse Ranch & Forest Park Area” upholds the core value of symbiosis. Originally, the whole Taichung World Flora Exposition was planned to be held here, but leopard cats, a local endangered species, were discovered here in 2014. Therefore, Mayor Lin Chia-lung decided that the protection of the habitat of leopard cats was the first priority and thus reduced a part of exhibition area in Houli Park Area and use Wiapu and Fengyuan as complements. At the same time, seizing the opportunity for holding the Flora Exposition, the Taichung City Government renovated the centurial horse stable and transformed it into an equestrian arena that meets international standards. In addition, precious old trees and the forest are preserved and made into “Flora Horse Land” and “Forest Garden”. After the Flora Exposition has ended, this place will be provided to hold all sorts of equestrian and slow jumping competitions so that the unique historical culture of the horse stable in Houli can be presented and regain its past glory.

CNN once introduced Taichung as the most livable city in Taiwan and Fengyuan Huluduan Park Area is the best model of the good life in Taichung. Juanpitzu River, a river that was built for agricultural irrigation, flows by the farmland quietly and has accompanied the people. Nowadays, hydrophilic environments can be built with ecological measures to create a world-class “Riverbank Flora City”. Art exhibitions and riverbank activities including pastries, gourmets, canoe, and light festival are available on this longest Riverbank Floral Corridor in Taiwan. The area upholds the core value of culture and mutual good and re-interprets the relationships between water and humanity. It not only has the power to cure bustling people of their fatigue, but is also combined with local pastry culture and presents citizens with a banquet of flowers and gourmets. After the Flora Exposition has ended, this place will become a pastry museum.

Those who purchase tickets in great numbers can get the actual tickets of the Flora Expo, but they need to cover the delivery fare (delivery is only available for Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu).

The Taichung City Government was the first to release the “Earliest Bird Ticket” from Jan. 8 to Feb. 28, representing that the ticket selling affair of the Flora Expo has entered a new milestone. With NT$150 per ticket, ticketholders can visit the three exhibition areas of Houli, Fengyuan and Waipu on the same day. Tickets are also available at ibon (online or through the vending machines) of 7-ELEVEN branches. As for those who will purchase tickets in great numbers, they can get the actual ticket at the Flora Expo. The selling of the Earliest Bird Tickets has ended.
•Early Bird Ticket
After the release of the “Earliest Bird Ticket” that has created a buying rush, the Taichung City Government then released the discounted tickets of the “Early Bird Ticket”. Each ticket costs only NT$175, which is half of the full fare ticket. The discount lasts until Apr. 30 and ticketholders can visit the three exhibition areas of Houli, Fengyuan and Waipu on the same day. The selling of the Early Bird Tickets has ended.

• Taichung International Airport：Transfer to City bus
• Other airports：Take the High Speed Railway to Taichung Station and transfer to train or city bus.

Get off at Taichung Station and transfer to train. Get off at Fengyuan Station, Houli Station or Dajia Station.

• Houli Horse Ranch & Forest Park Area：Get off at Houli Station and exit from the east exit.
• Fengyuan Huluduan Park Area：Get off at Fengyuan Station, go to Fengyouan HSR station to take the free shuttle.
