Andy Grammar 在接受採訪時說到這張新專輯 The Good Parts 是他最個人的一張專輯，身為一個33歲的音樂家，得過幾次百大歌曲，他認為是時候該做點符合自己的音樂，因此他為這張專輯創作時，寫了 115 首歌，並選了其中 13 首成為新專輯

而這首 The Good Parts ， Andy Grammar 說他想表達的是一種紀錄的感覺，每個人都會多多少少記錄自己的生活，但都只想留下好的部分，藏起來那些不好的、難以見人的，因此 Andy 想透過這首歌告訴大家，或許你可以跟我說說那些你不想面對的，但也別忘了說說那些好的，讓自己能夠快樂面對這一切！
