The SyuhHai grassland recreation area, located on the gentle top of Mudanbi Mountain(牡丹鼻山) in Mudan Township, has a vast area of grassland and low shrub vegetation. Walking up the trail, you can see unique animals and scenery of Hengchun everywhere. You can look over the amazing scenery of Mudan bay and astonished view of Pacific Ocean when you walk to the gazebo.SyuhHai is actually well-known for the sunrise and the starry sky at night. Some of the travelers will pitch their tents near here and then camp for stargazing.

Hehuan Mt. is located at the junction of Xiulin Township, Hualien County and Renai Township, Nantou County. When winter comes, the snow will cover all the mountain which makes Hehuan Mt. is also known as “the county of snow”. In spring, people will come here to watch the Azalea flowers and dwarf bamboo. In summer, people will climb the mountain and camp here. Loshib Wadan Memorial Park is a memorial park to commemorate Atayal Warriors, Loshib Wadan. In the modern history of Taiwanese aborigines, Leshib Wada was an extremely important figure. From the era of the Japanese rule, he actively became the communication bridge between the aborigines and the government. Even in the early postwar period, he fought for the rights of aborigines with clear ethnic stances. Unfortunately, he was suppressed and even killed. People built this park to memory and appreciate him. There is a beautiful observatory in the park with two ladders that can be climbed up. One of it is narrow that only allows one person up and down at one time, while the other one is steeper that needs both hands to climb up. The park is small but the scenery here is amazing no matter day or night. It’s really a good place to relax.
