在下週台灣登場前，三星已經在全球對主要科技媒體以及 KOF 進行 Galaxy Fold 摺疊螢幕手機的搶先體驗以及評測，但隨即傳出國外科技媒體 Verge 在評測過後螢幕損壞的消息。

Verge 的編輯 Dieter Bohn 在對 Galaxy Fold 進行測試的第二天，無預警地發現測試機的折疊大螢幕中央出現損壞的L形線條，仔細觀察後發現在螢幕中央偏下方出現了摺疊機構向上凸起的痕跡，並且對螢幕顯示基板造成擠壓破壞，進而延伸產生 L 型的破壞線條，Dieter Bohn 表示他正常使用 Galaxy Fold，唯一可能造成破壞的原因就是先前拍攝時，在機身背面以黏土黏住機身拍攝，是否是黏土碎片混進摺疊機構裡進而擠壓到螢幕下方，或是摺疊機構本身擠壓所導致，目前不得而知。

而美國三星也很快的收回這台損壞的 Galaxy Fold，並且更換一台給 Dieter Bohn，但真正導致螢幕損壞的因素，三星目前正在檢查中，Dieter Bohn 在文內也提到，美國三星將會提供官方聲明給他，但目前尚未收到。

（更新）美國三星已對 Dieter Bohn 提供官方回應，表示：

A limited number of early Galaxy Fold samples were provided to media for review. We have received a few reports regarding the main display on the samples provided. We will thoroughly inspect these units in person to determine the cause of the matter.

Separately, a few reviewers reported having removed the top layer of the display causing damage to the screen. The main display on the Galaxy Fold features a top protective layer, which is part of the display structure designed to protect the screen from unintended scratches. Removing the protective layer or adding adhesives to the main display may cause damage. We will ensure this information is clearly delivered to our customers.
