The followings are some of the highlights and useful guidelines of the event.

Checkin Process

1. Checkin will start at 9:30. E-tickets will be used for the event, please open the website with the e-ticket QR code in advance.

2. Receive your badge and find your seat. Seats are not assigned, please feel free to find an available seat. ( If you need to borrow a simultaneous interpretation receiver, see step 3; if you haven't signed up for a workshop, see step4)

3. For borrowing a receiver, a valid ID card/passport is needed as a warranty. We will return your ID card/passport when you return the receiver.

4. For those who have signed up for a workshop, the ticket for the workshop will be given to you along with the badge. The deadline for workshop sign up is at 24:00 25th August. If you miss the deadline, you can sign up for a remaining workshop that interests you in a designated area.

Tips

1. Talk session 1 will begin at 10:30 sharp, please arrive on time and enter the threatre orderly.

2. If you haven't recieved an E-ticket after making your payment, please email us at [email protected], our team will sort it out for you ASAP.

Lunch and Tea break

1. Lunch and tea breaks are provided.

2. Bottle water are provided as well. There are drinking fountains in school, we encourage you to bring your own water bottle to make a contribution to environmental protection.

Transportation

1. Shuttle bus: For those who sign up for shuttle bus, please arrive at the pickup location you choose. TEDxXiguan's volunteers in black T-shirt and lollipop will be there to guide you. Shuttle buses will depart at 9:00 sharp and won't wait! Information about pickup locations has been sent to the phone number/mailbox you provide on the application form. If you haven't recieve it please e-mail us at [email protected].

2. Public transport: If you are coming by bus drop at the Nanshan South Road station; or if you coming by subway drop at the Jinfeng station and take exit B. Then you can transfer by bus NO. 336, NO. 396, NO. 325 or NO. 2 and drop at Kexiang Road Station. (TEDxXiguan's volunteers in black T-shirt will be there to guide the way.)

3. Driving: Set 19 Kexiang Road as the destination on your GPS, there are parking spots outside the school and some car parks nearby.

Additional Information

1. You will find some interesting interactive devices on site, please reserve your time to experience them! (What are they? Wait until the day!)

2. Community time is made for you to have exchange with other participants and make connections. Please get your open mind, curiosity and friendly smile ready!

3. There is no dress code. Please feel free to dress what you feel comfortable in.

4. The whole event is smoke-free; drinks and food are not allowed in the threatre (bottle water are allowed).

5. Typhoon Hato has landed in Guangzhou, don't forget to take your umbrella.

Building an idea sharing and inclussive community has been TEDxXiguan's vision and ongoing efforts. This time apart from the traditional TED talk format, we also lauch workshops aimed at drawing closer the sharers and audience. We believe you will not be let down.
