The next stop on our trip was Vietnam. In the past, I had many students from Vietnam, and listening to them made me eager to visit this country. I was excited to finally arrive in Ho Chi Minh City. I didn』t know what to expect but I was surprised by how much I like this city.

我們旅行的下一站是越南。以前，我的許多學生都是越南人，他們說的好些事讓我對這個國家充滿了嚮往。到達胡志明市時，我感到非常激動。我並不知道自己在期待些什麼，但令我驚訝的是我深深地愛上了這座城市。

Ho Chi Minh City used to be called Saigon when the French controlled Vietnam. You can see the influence of the French in the city. The buildings look European and there are many large parks. It』s very beautiful. There were also many coffee shops and cute little stores.

胡志明市在法國殖民時期叫做「西貢」。在這裡，隨處可見法國對這座城市的影響。這裡的建築物風格是歐式的，並且有許多漂亮的大花園，咖啡廳和各式林立的小店。

I wish I had had more time to explore there, but I guess I will just have to return soon!

我多希望當時能在那裡多待一段時間，估計不久之後我會再去一次。

I loved the coffee and I also loved the food! Before our trip, I thought I would like Thai food better than Vietnamese food, but I was wrong. Vietnamese food is very light and fresh. The flavors aren』t very strong and the food is not cooked very much. I was surprised by how much I like it.

我不僅喜歡這裡的咖啡，也愛這裡的食物。旅行前，我認為相比於越南菜，我更喜歡泰國菜，但事實證明，我錯了。越南菜口味清淡，取材新鮮，並且製作簡單。我太喜歡越南菜了，連我自己都感到驚訝。

Another interesting thing about the city is the motorbikes. I learned there are over 7 million motorbikes in Ho Chi Minh City. It was difficult to cross the street because there were so many. The city was overrun!

還有一件很有趣的事就是這座城裡有許多的機車。據我所知，僅胡志明市就有七百多萬量機車。在這裡，過馬路非常費勁，因為機車太多了，他們幾乎「淹沒」了這座城市。

Despite this, I still really enjoyed being there. The motorbikes just made the city more interesting. I wish I had had more time to explore there, but I guess I will just have to return soon!

儘管如此，我還是很喜歡這裡。機車使城市更加有趣。我多希望當時能在那裡多待一段時間，但估計不久之後我會再去一次。
