「知音」傳誦了三千年，其實是因為TA的存在

勢利交懷勢利心，斯文誰復念知音！

伯牙不作鍾期逝，千古令人說破琴。

眾人知曉，伯牙子期是講述知音難求的故事，俞伯牙與鍾子期是一對千古傳誦的至交典範。俞伯牙善於演奏，鍾子期善於欣賞，這也是「知音」一詞的由來。其實，在故事的背後，這種天籟之「音」早在3000多年前就已經出現，主要源於伯牙彈奏的「琴」。

古琴是世界最古老的彈撥樂器之一，早在先秦和兩漢時期，古琴就以其高貴、神秘的身價和深厚的文化內涵而存在於廟堂殿宇之上、市井草棚之間。但是，直到2003年才被列入「非遺」，3000多年來，古琴猶如一頁扁舟，在茫茫的文化長河中，經歷著風雨的洗禮，「知音難覓，知音難求」的矛盾，也在古琴的傳承與發展上顯得尤為突出。

關於古琴的起源，眾說紛紜，四海八荒尚未統一，多數觀點認為琴是源於三皇五帝時期，如：炎帝說「昔朱襄氏之治天下也，多風而陽氣蓄積，萬物散解，果實不成。按士達作五弦瑟，以來陰氣，以定群生。」；神農說：「...於是始削桐為琴，繩絲為弦，以通神明之道，合天地之和焉。」

雖然年代無確切的實物考證，但是按照零散的史料記載，可將其具體分類為神農式、仲尼式、連珠式、落霞式等多種款式。

古琴本身充滿著傳奇，它的神秘色彩一直是一個遠古的神秘的文化符號。據說，琴最早是由鳳凰演變而來，當時，伏羲氏看到鳳凰落在梧桐樹上，並投下影子，於是，他借著鳳凰的形態，做成了琴。所以，琴身同樣有頭、頸、肩、腰、尾。

古琴一向被視作「華夏正聲」、「母音雅樂」的代表，是古代文化中地位最崇高的樂器，為「琴棋書畫」四藝之首，必然蘊含豐富而深刻的文化內涵。這對彈琴者的要求必須達到心物相合、人琴合一的藝術境界。

在先秦諸子百家學說中，儒家思想強調藝術對人倫的教化作用。「琴者，情也；琴者，禁也。」唐代文人劉禹錫在《陋室銘》中為我們勾勒出一幅「可以調素琴、閱金經。無絲竹之亂耳，無案牘之勞形」的淡泊情懷。在儒家思想中，古琴則擔起禁止淫邪、端正忍心的道德責任。

換言之，「對牛彈琴」也是因古琴的出現而來形容一個人的學識，是否淵博。

《紅樓夢》中有這樣一段，賈寶玉得知林黛玉會彈琴時，便要妹妹為自己演奏一曲。黛玉這時講到：「若要撫琴，必擇靜室高齋，或在層樓的上頭，在林石的裡面，或是山巔上，或是水涯上。再遇著那天地清和的時候，風清月朗，焚香靜坐，心不外想。」又說：「若必要撫琴，先須衣冠整齊，或鶴氅，或深衣。要如古人的像表，那才能稱聖人之器，然後盥了手，焚上香。」由此可見，林黛玉才識過人。

古琴同樣也展現了文字的博大精深，這就要提及古琴琴譜了。古琴琴譜並不像西方樂器一樣，有五線譜、簡譜，再加上休止符等一系列符號來記譜，而是通過漢字的方式來寫譜，可能每一筆一畫都決定彈奏的方式，所以琴界用「大麴三年，小曲三月」來形容打譜的過程。
