意象風景的揮灑 —— 旅居紐西蘭德國女畫家 Claudia Grutke 繪畫作品欣賞
Claudia Grutke was born in northern Germany where she lived until 1996. She then moved to New Zealand and lived in the South Island until 2013. An interest in art started early. Painting used to be a hobby.
After more than twenty years in primary healthcare and having just experienced the sequence of earthquakes in Christchurch in 2010 and 2011 Claudia decided to turn painting into a profession, she moved to Raglan and now works from her studio at home. Beach and ocean are perceived as a place of contemplation with a sense of infinity. They appear as returning starting points for her abstract paintings. The creative process usually starts with a loose idea. Images evolve intuitively without direct but rather emotional reflection of the subject. Using acrylics, Claudia experiments with textures and allows for an element of coincidence in her art. Working abstractly gives her the freedom to explore subjects without boundaries. Claudia is the winner of the Artist of the Year competition 2014 by Chroma Australia. Claudia has participated in group exhibitions in Raglan (2015, 2016 & 2017), Bologna (2015 & 2016). She is a participant in the Women』s Essence Project in Milan (April 2016), her work was on show at the NZ Art Show in Wellington (June 2016) and in a group exhibition in Madrid (October 2016), Wellington (December 2016) and Hamilton ( May 2017)
