針對法院要求蘋果協助FBI解除犯案者持有手機密碼，蘋果執行長Tim Cook出面聲明不會因為政府單位要求而危害用戶隱私，Google執行長Sundar Pichai隨後也透過個人Twitter聲援支持。 Google執行長Sundar Pichai透過Twitter聲援蘋果，認為法院要求蘋果協助FBI解除犯案者持有手機密碼，甚至要求開啟系統後門讓相關單位進行破解，確實將開啟影響用戶隱私安全的惡例。Sundar Pichai表示，科技廠商可理解執法單位辦案與打擊犯罪辛勞，但仍應在不影響既有安全機制情況下，透過合理程序要求提供相關數據，而非要求協助開啟後門危及用戶隱私安全。 針對去年年底於加州發生、造成14人死亡、21人受傷的聖貝納迪諾槍擊案，由於兩名犯案者最後遭警方擊斃，FBI透過法院要求蘋果協助解除兇手所持iPhone 5c設置密碼一事，蘋果執行長Tim Cook表示將會配合辦案需求提供蘋果伺服器內保存資訊，但強調不會在蘋果作業系統內設置任何後門或漏洞，藉此讓政府單位可隨時監控使用者手機資訊，同時也不會協助蘋果解除任何用戶設置密碼。 Tim Cook強調，蘋果本身十分重視旗下用戶隱私安全，認為政府希望蘋果提供可存取資料的後門管道將嚴重危及用戶隱私安全，因此並不會開啟這樣危險的先例。 而在Sundar Pichai對此聲援蘋果作法之後，不少市場看法也開始期待微軟執行長Satya Nadella，以及Facebook執行長Mark Zuckerberg是否也會對此作任何回應，藉此表明科技廠商如何重視用戶隱私安全。 1/5 Important post by @tim_cook.
