今天要介紹的的片語為【invest in】: to spend money on (something) in the hope of getting some benefit, such as a profit.

例:

• 1.      Beth’s financial adviser said that she should invest in property.
• 2.      My mother always advised me to invest in a good pair of walking shoes.

I’m thinking of investing in a new car.
