從該圖中不難發現，寫作和聽口語是大陸烤鴨們的弱項。寫作僅5.3分，口語也很低。我們母語與英語不同的思考方式和結構是一方面，我們能不能用上地道的本地習語也是很重要的一方面。同天朝使用的漢語一樣，英文中也包含了豐富的成語和習語，它叫做Idioms.維基百科的解釋是：An idiom is a common word or phrase with a culturally understood meaning that differs from what its composite words' denotations would suggest. 也就是說習語是native speaker都理解的詞或片語，但是它的實際意義卻跟它的字面意義是天差地別的，所以學習習語望文生義是萬萬不可噠~對習語的了解不僅能夠讓我們在雅思口語考試中好好的給考官秀一把，還幫助我們更深的了解英語國家的文化~ 所以今天就來給各位親愛的烤鴨們科普啦！~一：與時間相關的習語.

1. Put the clock back

[字面意思]：把鐘錶指針向後撥。

[實際意思] 指行為或觀念跟不上時代；按陳舊的規矩辦事；老腦筋。

E.g.: You must give university students more freedom. Don』t try to prevent them from falling in love before graduation. You can』t put the clock back！

原來這樣簡單的詞句，也能表達如此確切的意思！

2. Work against the clock

[字面意思]：與鐘錶的走動比賽。

[實際意思] 指的是抓緊時間工作，強調不停頓哦~

E.g.: I have to work against the clock to finish my thesis before the holiday finishes. Otherwise my supervisor will not be happy with me.

我們辛勤的烤鴨們還可以這樣說哦：I have to work against the clock to pass the IELTS exam. 哈哈，是不是很準確的表達了烤鴨考前的心情！

3. Go like clockwork

[字面意思]：像鐘錶的機械裝置一樣運轉。

[實際意思] 指計劃、安排、工程或項目等進展順利，強調有條不紊，沒有麻煩。它還有另一種說法：Run like clockwork.

E.g.: The president is very happy that all our arrangements for the project are going like clockwork. And I am sure we can finish the project in time.

如果part2的話題考到了future plan, something you saved money for這種和計劃相關的話題，烤鴨們是可以把go like clockwork運用上去的，表達我們的計劃按部就班，進展的非常順利~

4. After hours

[字面意思]：鐘點之後。

[實際意思] 在規定的下班時間以後，非營業時間。

E.g.: Public houses must not stay open after hours, for if they do, they will have to face sanctions imposed by the government.

這個詞其實在我們平常的生活中非常常見，比如After hours GP指的是非營業時間的GP醫生~

5. This minute

[字面意思]：這分鐘。

[實際意思] 馬上，立刻，立即。

E.g.: What a mess you have made! Your room is like a pigsty! I want you to clean your room this minute!

這應該是每一個媽媽都會說的話~ 意思是你立刻把你的房間給我收拾乾淨~~~ This minute和right now是一個意思哦~

二：與顏色相關的習語.

6. In black and white

[字面意思]：以黑白形式。

[實際意思] 寫在紙上；以書面形式（常指合同或協議等法律文件）；白紙黑字。

E.g.: Business is business; I prefer to have our agreement in black and white.

有木有童鞋理解成為了列印的時候要黑白列印呢？ Anyway, 以後童鞋們簽訂合同的時候不用愁啦！~ 直接說: I prefer to have our agreement in black and white.就ok啦~

7. Out of the blue

[字面意思]：來自藍天；或出自大海。

[實際意思] 突然；沒有料到。常跟動詞come 連用。

E.g.: The news of his marriage came completely out of the blue. It was only last month that we learnt that he had broken with his girl friend.

在口語考試中，如果能用一個come out of blue代替unexpectedly或者suddenly是絕對能讓考官眼前一亮的哦~

8. Come out with flying colors

[字面意思]：出來時彩旗招展。

[實際意思] 非常成功，順利地度過了難關。變形體：Come off with flying colors. 說明：指戰艦凱旋歸來駛進港口時彩旗迎風招展的場景。

E.g.: She sat for the IELTS test and came out with flying colors.

沒錯，說的就是你！~ 雅思考過了吼 ~~

9.Go into the red

Get out of the red

[字面意思]：進入紅色/走出紅色

[實際意思] 負債，多指負債貸款/償清債務

E.g.: The bank manager usually does not allow students to go into the red.

E.g.: The Company only needs 500, 000 dollars to get out of the red.

這裡的red指的是債務~ 童鞋們是不是又多了一個替換詞呢~ 以後pay off the debt可以換成get out of the red啦~

10. Horse of a different color

[字面意思]：顏色不同的馬。

[實際意思] 完全是另一碼事，另外一回事。變形體: horse of another color（另一種顏色的馬）。

E.g.: Gambling is not the same as investing in the shares market. It is a horse of a different color.

賭博和炒股不一樣，它完全是另外一回事~ 意思與another matter相同

三：與身體相關的習語.

11. An eye for an eye

[字面意思]：以眼還眼。

[實際意思]報復，復仇，懲罰。說明：A tooth for a tooth 的意思是「以牙還牙」。這兩條成語可放在一起用，也可用任何一個，意思一樣。

E.g.: She abused him, and he insulted her; an eye for an eye.

這個習語相信大家都是知道的哦~ 因為在我們中文也有對應的~就是以牙還牙，以眼還眼~

12. Face the music

[字面意思]：面對音樂。

[實際意思] 面對批評或懲罰；接受由於自己的行為所造成的不良後果。

E.g.: You should tell your mother what happened and face the music.

小夥伴們千萬不要理解為面對音樂哦~ 這樣是不make sense的噠~ 如果我們犯了錯，就得face the music咯~Orz

13. Have one』s head in the clouds

[字面意思]：把頭放在雲層里。

[實際意思] 不實際的；不現實的；想入非非。

E.g.: The proposal he made was not feasible; I think he has his head in the clouds.

形容不切實際，這個片語可是絕佳的選擇哦~

14. Have one』s heart in one』s mouth

[字面意思]：把心放在自己的嘴裡。

[實際意思] 害怕，緊張。

E.g.: I had my heart in my mouth when I checked my IELTS result.

有木有！~有木有！~大家在查雅思成績的時候心裡是不是都非常緊張呢~ 以後口語考試中用have one』s heart in one』s mouth代替nervous,瞬間感覺高大上了有木有！

15. Cost an arm and a leg

[字面意思]：花費一條胳膊和一條腿。

[實際意思] 價格非常昂貴。變形體：Pay an arm and a leg. 兩條習語的是一樣的哦~

E.g.: These opera tickets cost us an arm and a leg!

不要傻傻的再用expensive這麼普通的詞了~ Lexical Resource UP UP UP!!!

四：與動物相關的習語.

16. Crocodile tears

[字面意思]：鱷魚的眼淚。

[實際意思] 假悲哀；不是真心悲哀而流眼淚；貓哭耗子假慈悲。

E.g.: She dropped a few crocodile tears over her husband』s death then got his insurance money and married again two weeks later.

我們中文裡面也有鱷魚的眼淚這種說法哦，形容人假惺惺的掉眼淚~

17. Rain cats and dogs

[字面意思]：（天上）下狗下貓。

[實際意思] 傾盆大雨。說明：英語受北歐文化的影響。在古代北歐神話中，狗象徵風，貓象徵雨。「貓和狗」象徵「狂風豪雨」。

E.g.: It rained cats and dogs yesterday, so we had to cancel the football match.

天上當然不可能下貓下狗啦~ 當然也是不可能下錢的~~~

18. Give someone the bird

[字面意思]：給某人一隻鳥。

[實際意思](音同拉長的「不」，像是「bullshit」的省略)；給某人喝倒彩。

E.g.: When the actress forgot her lines, the audience gave her the bird.

給某人一隻鳥居然是喝倒彩的意思！~無憂小雅哥剛學會的時候，也是驚到了~

19. Kill two birds with one stone

[字面意思]：一塊石頭打中兩隻鳥。

[實際意思] 一箭雙鵰；一舉兩得。

E.g.: He killed two birds with one stone by having dinner at his tutor』s place.

相信這個習語童鞋們都已經知道啦~ 但是能運用的時候記得要用哦~

20. Put on the dog

[字面意思]：把狗帶在身上。

[實際意思] 炫耀、擺闊。竭力表現自我，好像自己非常重要、非常富有。但實際並非如此。

E.g.: They put on the dog in front of their guests, but the guests were not impressed.

原來形容別人炫富是這樣說的！~ 以後小夥伴們想吐槽的時候不會詞窮啦~·
