Shopping at a Japanese Local Supermarket in Osaka in 2018: What are my recommendations to buy?

As I observed, the supermarket in the countryside usually offers a better price.  Nevertheless, there is an underground supermarket across from Daiwa Roynet Hotel which offers a pretty good price for all the snacks, bread, drinks, cosmetic products, and food. Mostly, the price for the bread ranged from roughly 100 Yen to 200 Yen. It’s a steal. As to the products, I strongly recommend you to get fruit wine here. Mostly, the price for the wine is affordable. I personally love pure cocoa I get from this supermarket, which is rewarded for 10 years successively.  What’s more, Japan is particularly famous for tea products, such as matcha and genmaicha. 

What are my recommendations to get at a Japanese supermarket? 

1.  Rewarded pure cocoa. ★★★★★

It tastes good. But do not overdrink it. 

2. Fruit Wine★★★★★

There are tons of options and varieties at a  fairly reasonable price.  I personally prefer grapefruit wine most. It named ゆず酒 in Japanese.

3. Macha （中文：抹茶）★★★

4. Something special, such as Gyokuro  (Japanese name:  玉 露)★★★★

It is a type of shaded green tea which is exquisite in Japan. It differs from the standard sencha (煎茶).  It is grown under the shade rather than under the full sun. Gyokuro is shaded longer than kabuse tea （銘茶，かぶせ茶）Gyokuro is shaded for roughly three weeks, while kabuse-cha is shaded for about one week long.

5.bread and  chocolate★★★

▲The bread on the shelf is relatively cheaper than Taiwan. It’s good to live here.

▲matcha:Chinese：抹茶

▲Genmaicha:Chinese : 玄米茶。It’s a combination of Japanese green tea and roasted brown rice, which  also titled as “popcorn tea.” Genmaicha is proved to relieve inflammation in the body. But do not overdose it. 

▲Remeber, you have to pay for an added 8%  consumption tax for any products you see in the supermarkets.

Besides, there are many convenient stores around the neighborhood. You can find a relatively famous bookstore named 紀伊國屋書店. I get a food-guide magazine for myself, which is about 700 Yen. 

and many local distinct restaurants in this area, including exceptional Japanese restaurants and Chinese-food restaurant.
